Abstract |
Optos retinal imaging products have opened up areas of study and treatment options previously not possible in the vitreoretinal subspecialty. In the last few years the ability to view the periphery with ultra-wide eld (200º ) retinal imaging has led to several exciting new clinical discoveries. This has revealed new insights into the role of peripheral pathology in retinal vascular, degenerative and inflammatory diseases. There are also indications that with targeted photocoagulation guided by ultra-wide eld imaging there may be benefits to prolong the effects of anti-VEGF therapy in certain macular diseases with peripheral ischemia. The symposium “Expanding Horizons in Ultra-Wide eld Retinal Imaging” will enlighten delegates with a series of case-study presentations on the impact of ultra-wide eld imaging on treatment paradigms.
